TRAINING - CARE FOR JUSTICE
Discrimination based on ethnicity, gender, religion, and disability have an impact on one’s mental health. Many members of such marginalized communities do the important work of fighting hegemonic power structures. Therefore, we dedicate this series of Trainings to those who are in the role of caring and advocating for justice, rest, and equality - but who will care for those who are continuously caring for others as the constant labor of activism can lead to anxiety, depression, and burnouts, and often creates a social and mental barrier for marginalized communities to take part in the social sphere? When will we have a healing space for our own communities? How can we explore rest as our birthright and as stated in RA Walden’s manifesto, “Why does your activism exclude the disabled”?
By exploring these questions, our third cluster is organized from a political and activist approach by still maintaining the element of care. The urgent aim behind this cluster is finding rest in times of resistance.
