TRAINING: Centering BIPOC holistic healers #2 — Acupuncture from an Asian perspective with Kim
1–2:30 pm
This TRAINING is specifically for BIPOC people.
Centering BIPOC holistic healers is a series of three TRAININGS where the current (holistic) health space is being challenged by intentionally inviting BIPOC health practitioners into our home.
The entire series is initiated by Sekai Makoni, whereby each TRAINING starts with an embodied experience of what countering whiteness can look like by centering healers of color. In this second session, we do this by inviting Kim Tran, who will bless us with the power of acupuncture from an Asian Perspective. She is a registered Zhong acupuncturist who draws upon expertise in Chinese Medicine from her ancestral family practice and infuses this with her education. More importantly, she takes an intersectional perspective of well being including the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
The second half consists of a public dialogue between Sekai, the health practitioner, and you, where we will collectively speak about health spaces, experiences, and Chinese medicine for BIPOC people. This communal session of holistic politics resonates deeply with the ‘Care for Justice’ theme & is aimed to be a reminder of the joy, importance, and healing qualities brought by BIPOC health practitioners and our/their practices.
