We regret to announce the cancellation of our Keynote and Masterclass programs with Denise Ferreira da Silva set to take place this Friday November 10. Together with our presentation partners Blacker Blackness, we extend our apologies for this unforeseen cancellation. Please stay tuned for further programs coming up this winter via our website, newsletter, and on social media.
Join us for a Masterclass with Professor Denise Ferreira da Silva, co-hosted by Blacker Blackness, a study program at the Sandberg Institute led by Ola Hassanain and Simone Zeefuik. This program will delve into Ferreira da Silva’s latest book Unpayable Debt published in 2022 by MIT and Sternberg Press and takes place before a public Keynote lecture titled ‘Fashioning a Tool—de/re/composition’ which launches the online chapbook of the Tools for Demodernizing’ initiative.
“The tools that we have for making sense of our political conditions create and enforce separations.”
The Masterclass will have places for fifteen participants which will be filled based upon expression of interest. To apply for this Masterclass, please send your biography (200 words) and a motivation letter (200–400 words) to education [at] kunstinstituutmelly.nl. Please include your social media handle or your personal website if you have one. The deadline for applications is 13 October.
Preparation for the Masterclass will involve reading material provided in advance. The Masterclass is made available free of charge by Kunstinstituut Melly and Blacker Blackness. Transportation support will be considered on a needs basis.
