An evening organised for and by students, with meetings with artists, a workshop or debate and drinks, fingerfood, and music …
Witte de With strives to provide a platform for students to experience contemporary art and share their ideas with each other as well as with curators and artists. The basic principle is to stimulate interest in art in a relaxed and open atmosphere, and to create a positive learning environment where young people can enter into serious, captivating and enthusiastic discussions about art. This was the rationale that prompted the education department to organize an event for and by students during the Don Quijote exhibition. The exhibition’s theme tackles topics that confront young people in contemporary society and everyday life.
The event is structured by the ‘peer-led education’ system, in which a working group of young people acts as ‘peer leaders’ (with, for, and by young people). These peer leaders devise, organize and lead the event in conjunction with Witte de With and a number of artists. The evening will be a varied program of meetings with artists and curators, workshops and debates, in an informal environment.
