Marlies Crooijmans
Marlies Crooijmans studied 3D design and product design at the HKU. Her work as a product designer took a special turn when she became a supervisor at the European Ceramic Work Center (EKWC). For more than a decade, she advised artists and designers from all over the world to realize their work. Thus, she developed her thorough knowledge of ceramic materials and expertise in construction and mold making.
At the same time, in conversations with the artists and designers, Marlies learned to get through to the essence of what they want to make. She took these qualities with her when she started her own company in 2014 with Fabrique Céramique, where she further specialized in product development and production. In addition, Marlies regularly gives master classes in mold making to students at the Design Academy Eindhoven. She teaches ceramics at SintLucas in Boxtel and is still active as a designer herself.
