Luana Vitra
Luana Vitra is a visual artist, dancer, and performer from the Minas Gerais region of Brazil, an area where the landscape has been heavily influenced by industrial mining activities. Luana's work is rooted in her family background, in her father's work as a carpenter and her mother's literary interests. In objects and installations, she explores the nuanced nature of raw materials, highlighting the interplay between geological processes and emotional experiences. Luana received the Prince Claus Seed Award in 2022. Her work was exhibited in several institutions that year, including MAM in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, Framer Framed in Amsterdam, South London Gallery in the UK, and Javett Art Center in Pretoria, South Africa. In 2023, she participated in the 35th São Paulo Biennale entitled Choreographies of the Impossible and The Right to Form, a group exhibition at Instituto Inhotim, Belo Horizonte, both in Brazil.
