Vera Kersting

Vera Kersting (1997) is a Rotterdam-based artist engaged in crossovers between painting and installation, sound, text, costume and film. Kersting originally trained in fashion at Artez in Arnhem, before completing her Master of Fine Arts at KASK in Gent. Her work often engages boundaries as a basis of transgression, utilising colour as a way to stage conflicting emotions between humor and suffering, comfort and longing. Most recently Kersting undertook a three month residency in Yogyakarta with the artist collective Taring Padi. This extended her interest in cultural narratives and her own personal connection to the history of Indonesia.
