Cukros
Cukros takes the audience on a musical journey from Hungary to the Middle East. With two voices and four instruments, Bori Mályi and Annabella Raiona create intimate spaces and tell stories from different corners of the Balkans. The two singers of different backgrounds met throughout their studies of Turkish music at Codarts in Rotterdam and accompanied themselves on koboz, violin, bağlama, and bendir.Their music is strongly inspired by vocal traditions, often passed on by women. With past performances, they revealed their female perspective in traditional music to a bigger audience in Rotterdam and with upcoming concerts in Slovenia and Austria, they are expanding their range to other parts of Europe.
