Shana Lewis
Shana Maria Lewis (b.1995 in Memphis) is an educator and curator whose practice positions artistic practice as a primary means of knowledge acquisition. Her projects focus on developing dialogues between tacit knowledge and explicit knowledge by applying artistic and scientific processes towards the investigation into existential and social issues. Her practice endeavors to reconstruct notions of knowledge and education, and empower communities to reimagine existing social systems and pertinent problems, such as climate change, and mental health stigma.
Shana Lewis received her B.A in History and Sociology from The University of Memphis in 2018, and her Master’s in Curatorial Practice from Istituto Europeo di Design, in Florence, Italy, in 2022. In May of 2023 she began working as an arts and cultural facilitator in the Netherlands Her work as an educator includes over seven years of experience teaching in Japan, the United States, and via remote platforms.
