Marcos Kueh

Marcos Kueh is a textile artist from the Malaysian part of Borneo Island, and currently lives and works in the Netherlands. Born in a selective multicultural country, Kueh has a longing desire to better understand his place and identity as a Malaysian. His practice is about safeguarding contemporary legends onto textiles; using fibers to string in bits of day-to-day narratives he encounters for storytelling - just as the ancestors of Borneo did with their dreams and legends, before the arrival of written alphabets from the West. Kueh is a graduate of KABK BA in Textile Design. His work has been exhibited at Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; and Museum Voorlinden, Wassenaar; among others.
