Lucy Beech
Lucy Beech (UK, 1985) is an artist whose practice revolves around collaboration and encompasses filmmaking, live performance, choreography, research and writing. The artist's current investigation explores the meanings and potentials of waste in various sociocultural settings including the connections between waste materialities and processes of reproduction. Beech’s films operate in a fluid space between documentary and fiction and use poetry as an approach to scientific research as a means to explore the productive potential of uncertainty. Recent presentations of their work include: Madre Museo D’Arte Contemporanea Donnaregina, Naples (IT) Tramway (UK), De La Warr Pavilion and The Liverpool Biennial UK. With their collaborator Edward Thomasson, Beech has exhibited at Tate Britain (London, UK) Kunsthalle (Mainz, DE) South London Gallery (UK), Maureen Paley (UK), The Barbican Theatre (UK) and The Camden Arts Centre (UK).
