BUI

BUI is an Utrecht based music ensemble that plays with the space as coperformer. They are interested in the research and execution of being in the NOW. Through the method of improvisation, the four musicians carve sculptures in time using their instruments. The sounding shapes are latent for the moment, respecting the sounds that are already present and use the sonic possibilities of the room. Inspired by the lively energy of the Dutch improvisation scene, the time-shifting experience of minimal music and many interpretations of silence, BUI creates a new perspective to a familiar space. Currently BUI is in a two-year residency at Gaudeamus.
