Guy Mannes-Abbott
Guy Mannes-Abbott is a London-based writer. He is the author of a series of texts—called e.things—that often perform in visual art contexts, nationally and internationally. The longest in this series is the highly acclaimed In Ramallah, Running (2012), the latest his contribution to SUPERCOMMUNITY at the Venice Biennale (2015). Mannes-Abbott participated in Moderation(s) at Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art (Rotterdam, 2013) and collaborated with the Bombay-based CAMP on a film installation, The Country of the Blind, and Other Stories for the Folkestone Triennial (2011). He once taught theory at the AA School of Architecture in London and is a widely published cultural critic. Recent publications include: a chapter in The Gulf: High Culture/Hard Labor (2015); an essay on Emily Jacir for Dissonant Archives (2015); a short story for Drone Fiction (2013); and an introductory essay to Mourid Barghouti’s Midnight and Other Poems (2008).
