Milad Doueihi
Milad Doueihi (1959) is the chair of Digital Humanities at Sorbonne Universities, Paris. Trained as historian of religions, he published several book that imposed him as one of the very few who speak with broadly informed and measured authority about what the rise of the digital means: Digital cultures (2011. Cambridge, Mass.: Harvard University Press, 2011), Pour un humanisme numérique (Paris: Seuil, 2011). Doueihi was one of the first not to think of the digital as a technic but as a culture. He forged the expression “Digital humanism” as a way to focus on “the human dimension of the digital and the deepness of the current mutations that are affecting some aspects of humanisms that left its mark in western history”.
