Geert Maarse
Geert Maarse is programmer and science journalist. He was born in 1984, the year Apple launched the first Mac, Marvin Gaye died and Brunei became an independent state. He grew up in Arkel, a working class village bordering the Alblasserwaard and studied Business, Cultural Sciences, and Media & Journalism in Rotterdam. He hosts debates with ministers, film producers, with CEO’s and chimney sweepers and just as easily interviews a statesman as he does a barkeeper. Geert works for AIR Foundation, Erasmus University, The Dependance, Arminius, The Ministry of Economic Affairs, De Nieuwe Liefde, the Municipality of Rotterdam, Industrielinqs, IFFR, KNAW, Vers Beton, Tivoli, The University of Groningen, WRR, and Verre Bergen Foundation. He is the initiator and host of Studio Erasmus, the monthly science talk show by The Rotterdam Schouwburg and the Erasmus University and is host of the Rotterdam Denkcafé.
