Chus Martínez
Born in Spain, Chus Martínez has a background in philosophy and art history. She was the chief curator at El Museo Del Barrio, New York and dOCUMENTA (13). Previously she was chief curator at MACBA, Barcelona (2008–11); and before she was director of the Frankfurter Kunstverein. For the 56th Venice Biennale (2015), Martínez curated the National Pavilion of Catalunya with Albert Serra and for the 51st edition she curated the Cyprus Pavilion. She just presented the research and exhibition project The Metabolic Age at MALBA, Buenos Aires (September 2015 – Februar 2016). Currently she lives in Switzerland and is the head of the Institute of Art of the FHNW Academy of Arts and Design in Basel.
