Lorena Solis Bravo
Lorena Solís Bravo (1991) is born in Lima, Perú, and lives in Amsterdam (NL). In 2017, she graduated in Fine arts at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Since then, she explores through movement, material and the body the multi-layers of existing ideas around ownership, unlearning and the queerness of spaces, situations, and moments. Through texts, songs, choreography and movement research the body is treated as an archive that carries stories, thoughts, people it has met, scars, dust, the weather, an overheard conversation, among others. A receptive instrument that (un)learns to tune into many different modes of physicality while exploring narratives of gender, the self/the other and body perception not necessarily by expressing inner feelings, but by allowing it to adapt to a multitude of qualities that exist in our environment.
