Oladélé Ajiboyé Bamgboyé
Oladélé Ajiboyé Bamgboyé (Odo-Eku, Nigeria, 1963) lives and works in London. Bamgboyé is originally trained as a chemical engineer in Glasgow, Scotland, and has worked with various lens-based media such as photography, video and film since the late eighties. He won international acclaim at the Documenta X (Kassel, Germany), organized by Catherine David in 1997. Bamgboyé has had a series of solo exhibitions, including one at Witte de With (2000), and participated in many group exhibitions, including the Johannesburg Biennial (South Africa, 1998), and the Triennial in Yokohama (Japan, 2001). He was recently short listed for the Vincent Van Gogh biannual award for European Art (2000).
