Anna Franceschini

Anna Franceschini (1979, Pavia, Italy) lives and works in Milano, Italy. She is an artist, filmmaker, and researcher. Her films and videos investigates objects, spaces, and activities. The alien nature of these become apparent when the camera rests on them for extended periods. For her, the moving image is capable of conducting a silent, meditative observation of reality. Her static and repetitive cinematic language often involve an uncanny absence of human beings, which underlines our arbitrary and culturally fabricated relationship with the world around us.
