Virginie Bobin
Virginie Bobin is Assistant Curator at Witte de With since April 2013. As an (independent) curator and critic, she has a specific interest for performance, experimental forms of artistic research, the role of art, artists and art institutions in the public sphere, and formats that go beyond exhibition-making. Before Witte de With, she was Projects and Publishing Coordinator at Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers (2010-13), Curatorial Assistant for Performa, the New York Biennial of Performing Arts (2009) and for exhibitions in New York (PS1, 2009) and Ireland (Lismore Castle Arts, 2009). She collaborated with her bo-ring collective on the We Don’t Record Flowers exhibition and publication (Bétonsalon, Paris, 2010-11) and the Performing Memory cycle of research, performances, seminars and talks (Paris, Vienna, Leuven, Basel, 2008-11); and with curator Mathilde Villeneuve on an editorial project with Archive Books (Berlin, 2013). Her writings appear in international catalogues and magazines (A Prior, Flash Art, Manifesta Journal, ZéroQuatre…), and she has been Associate Editor of Manifesta Journal since 2011.
