Dan Attoe
Dan Attoe (b. 1975, the United States) is an artist working and living in Southwest Washington state. He studied in the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and received his Master of Fine Arts at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Attoe’s work often revolves around the themes of the unpolished aspect of urban and rural life with a twist of mysticism. He is one of the founders of Paintallica, an art collective. Attoe’s solo exhibitions have been exhibited internationally, one of the most recent ones being Lights Flickering in the Dark, which opened in 2011 in Peres Projects in Berlin. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions internationally, including Secret Societies, Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt (2011); Point to the end, which is always present, Small A Projects, New York, (2010); Rock Opera, CAPC, Museum of Contemporary Art, Bordeaux; A Fragile Reality, Elizabeth Leach Gallery, Portland; and Group Show, Galleria Monica De Cardenas, Milan, Italy.
