Elizabeth A. Povinelli
Elizabeth A. Povinelli is a critical theorist and artist. She is a Professor of Anthropology and Gender Studies at Columbia University (NY) and one of the founding members of the Karrabing Film Collective. She is the author of eight books, the most recent, Routes & Worlds (Sternberg, 2022), Between Gaia and Ground (Duke, 2021), and The Inheritance (Duke, 2021). Her work has received prizes including the 2017 Lionell Trilling award for Geontologies (Duke, 2018). With her Karrabing colleagues, Elizabeth A. Povinelli has made over ten films that have received numerous awards including the Eye Prize from the Eye Filmmuseum (Amsterdam) in 2021, the Cittadellarte-Foundazione Pistoletto in 2015, and Foundation Zegna Visible Award, and the Cinema Nova Award Best Short Fiction Film at Melbourne International Film Festival.
