6 ISLANDS zine

6 ISLANDS zine is a collective by, Ichmarah Kock, Alexine Gabriela & Danick Trouwloon, 3 queer women of Afro-Carribean descent, born out of the need to talk about the position of the 6 islands — Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Saba, Statia, and St. Maarten – within the so-called "Dutch Kingdom''. From an intersectional approach, the collective explores the experiences of Black people and People of Color descendants from these 6 islands, as the colonial past left traces in their cultures and identities. They publish a yearly zine as a means of archiving collective and individual ways of decolonization and organize workshops, book-club events, movie screenings, and talks throughout the year.
