For the exhibition at Kunstinstituut Melly, artist Ayesha Hameed is researching the history associated with the ocean surrounding the country of India. This is the Indian Ocean and the artist calls this research Brown Atlantis. The artworks on display at Kunstinstituut Melly are worlds that you can walk through. That you can hear and sometimes even smell. Together, the artworks were given the name Brown Atlantis.
During this activity, you will explore what oceans have to do with different spices. Can you also guess what smells the artworks have? You may also daydream about your favorite places and will strike up a conversation with a mermaid.
